The hot glue holding in the overflow isn't exactly the most attractive, but it works. The floor is random, the overflow section drains about halfway down and holds about there.

The pump is noisy, probably because it's touching the glass and overflow. I'll have to do something about that. It's moving water really well though. I'm scheming a heater to fit under the tank, a la terrarium heaters, to keep it over room temp. Or I can just put something in it that will be fine between 65 and 75 with fluctuations.

I might take some of the weir teeth out so I can get more flow through, lowering the water in the display in favor of more by the pump.

But the real question, what goes in it?

Cold water reef

Before I figure out how to add a heater to my .5 gallon tank, I want to know from the hive mind what "cold water" inverts would work well in a tank that small. Right now it is at 65 degrees, up to probably 70 during the day. summers will warm up more, mid 70s in the house. So, what do you have...

That's my thought. There's no mechanical filtration right yet. It'd be easy to keep the thing dirty. Clean is the hard part. We'll see what happens to the birds nest in there.
