I have a fairly new Red Sea 525, about 6 months old with mostly small frags. I have been seeing my alk drop pretty slowly and have been dosing very small amounts of 2 part by hand every few days or so but I have been thinking about doing kalk slurry eventually. I think I just want to start thought by dosing a pretty lite mix of wasser sowly until my tanks growth requires more but I want to get the right doser the first time if its possible. Any advice on a doser that will work for what I want to do now and eventually for doing the slurry stirring method later would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a BioCube 32 for about 5 years but have just done weekly water changes so never had to dose anything. Dosing is going to be completely new to me.

I have been watching the videos on this and the big attraction is the pH gain they are getting. I did see your point on another thread about the risk of unsettled contaminants entering the aquarium which is a really good point. I wonder if this could be mitigated by only using pharmacy grad kalk?

You can obtain the same pH results without concerns about a slurry or evaporation limitations by using a to part where the alk part is provided by hydroxide. :)
