What's the best way to connect a Python hose to pvc?

Trying to connect my hose to my mixing station. What's the best way? Which fittings do I need? Thank you very much in advance!

PVC pipe section off the valve to a true union fitting, then a barbed fitting.
You can then unthread the union with the barbed fitting and hose attached.

If I'm not mistaken, Pythons have conventional hose connectors on them. So why not simply attach a hose adapter to that valve:

This particular one is a Lasco for Ace Hardware found HERE. They come in various configurations.

And they also come as male hose adapters as well....
