It very well could be. Difficult to tell. I still would be manually removing. No room in my DT for such nonsense. That looks like bryopsis, not Caulerpa to me, The feathered caulerpas grows on vines.
The pics are pretty small on the desktop.
A tooth brush will knock unwanted macros back and then up your snail population, regardless of the species. Yes you can leave it in the tank if you want. your tank.
In some cases (like mine) the colonies eventually just crash. My results may not be typical. My other tank It doesn't want to crash.

Although admittedly odd an odd bird In general, and always curious, I really didn't prefer the bryopsis experience. No room in my DT for such nonsense
ye toothbrush is the best its just i was woried that if i will use toothbrush in my DT and smash this thing it will just spred even more !It very well could be. Difficult to tell. I still would be manually removing. No room in my DT for such nonsense.
But look at me, I still use a toothbrush on my rock. Don't need all those chemicals when you go old school.
it will esp if its Bryo. look up bubble algae and siphons. Its a trick but hold a 1/4 in line near the spot your scrubbing.it will just spred even more !
