Ok....Please someone tell me what kind of little crab I just found inside a crevice on one of my LR.....he looks like he has ringed legs with lots and lots of prickley hair on them. He is kinda a Brown color. Is he a GOOD crab or a BAD crab....I sure hope he's a good one...cause I don't think I could ever catch him....I think he's kinda cute...but I don't want him to hurt my corals?:squigglemouth:

Gorilla crab probably. Take a look on wetwebmedia

Or compare to this

What color are his claws? are they pointy/sharp? Sounds like a stone crab. They can kill fish, and definitely shrimp/snails. He's gotta go into the sump!

I don't think stone crabs are hairy though.

Yep...I belive that is him....do I have to get him out? will he hurt anything?
really looks like the one in the picture.

I understand that a glass jar works well as a trap for crabs. Place a deep enough wide mouth jar or glass in your aquarium near the place the crab hides and put some food in it.

A Gorilla crab is not a good thing in a reef tank.
