I posted this on a FB group, but wanted to share here as well to get your expert opinion. Any idea what's this "thing" on my toadstool? Someone on FB said barnacle. I Google'd it and it looks like it but not sure (I had no idea what a barnacle was until 5 minutes ago :p)

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for the help!

Could you take images of the dorsal side of the organism? It's hard to tell at this angle.
Barnacles are rare in aquaria, only occasionally showing up on live rock. The hitchhiker in question looks too fleshy to be one of these, though.

Possible chiton snail but could use top view and better angle. You can try giving it blasts with a turkep baster and see if it dislodges, then take a couple of pics

I'll certainly try! I need to unplug the frag to get a better picture. This is the side of the frag that's facing the front glass on my tank.

I don't have live rock and haven't added anything to my tank in probably 3 or 4 months (dealing with dinos at the moment). That's why I'm super surprised to see this new creature all of the sudden.

Don't know whether it moves. Haven't tried to remove it, but that's the next step after taking more pictures
That’s the reason I recommended turkey baster to determine if stationary or moves
