Just received a new Torch today. Viewing online during the "auction" the tentacles are out and the skeleton is not visible.... while unbagging I see there's a feather duster of sorts growing between the two heads??!!

1. Do you think it would be harmful?

2. If you purchased this coral and this large organism was between the heads, which was not disclosed, nor visible, would you be a bit perturbed by the situation? Note: on the auction listing there's not much description on anything ( I may be a little agitated as well by the fact that the Reef Koi Bounce was only the size of a pencil eraser, that's somewhat my fault since bid without a better size description)

No worries , it's just a harmless filter feeder , I have a few torches like that also ,they burrow into the skeleton and just feed off the water column the torch is unaffected

Looks like pineapple sponge to me. I'm no expert so get other opinions. But I have a few in my tank. They're harmless

If the torch isn't bothered by it, then it's probably okay. Almost looks like a barnacle to me though.

I belive it's a barnacle. Cool score.

It may not survive long. Enjoy it while it lasts. IMO.

Fwiw. I actively look for that stuff at the lfs's. Always a bummer when its attached to annoying corals.
That I can't afford. lol

Appreciate it peeps, and probably a barnacle of sorts by the looks. However......
