What is this pink/purplish stuff growing around coral? Has little hairs? 1 cardinal died sometime last night, worms and crabs seemed to polish it off to the bone super fast. Could that be a factor?

Thanks, didnt think it killed the fish, was wondering if the dead fish couldve cause the red cayn

It depends on how long the fish was in there. If you pulled it out as soon as you noticed it, then un-likely. Now if you had a fish die and it decomposed in the tank, then the nutrient spike along with bacterial release certainly could cause t minor cyano outbreak. All tanks have it, and just about every one of us has had an outbreak or four. Adequate flow and proper nutrient levels along with maintaining good water parameters usually helps keep cyano outbreaks to a minimum.

Cyan clinging on to tissue. You can remove using gentle blasts from a turkey baster
