Hey everyone, my name is Chris and I have been in the hobby since 2006. In 2011 my 55g mixed reef crashed and I sold off what I could and took some time off. I now have a sps dominate 40b with 20l sump setup that is about to be 7 months old and is doing pretty well. Just wanted to introduce myself and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. Welcome Chris! In hindsight, any idea what caused your previous tank to crash? I'm new and trying to gather info on the various causes of a crashed tank (sulfates, etc). I'm in the process of stocking a 92 gallon mixed reef.

Hey Barry, what cause my crash was definitely my fault. I was running a heater without a temp controller, the internal thermostat on the heater stuck on and cooked my tank while I was away for a soccer tourny, I was devastated. I tried as much as I could to get it back up to par but all my sps corals died off, fish and inverts died, only survivors where my bonded Tru Percs and there sebae anemone...

A few details on my system... It's a 40b with 20l 3 chamber sump, jebao dc6000 return pump, coral box d300 skimmer, wp25 & rw4 for flow, lumentek pro 180 led light, 40lbs "reef saver" rock, special grade live sand...
