Hello Reef2Reef... in looking for advice on the pics below. My GSPs have been closed a couple days and now only one polp is out. Also...what's thus green stuff all over my rocks? It just started spawning like crazy. Very hard and crusty...not slimy.

Pics dont work what are your parameters?

Can't see any pics so not sure about the green stuff, (probably algae though). As far as the GSP though, have there been any changes to lighting intensity or schedule lately? My GSP closed up for about 8 days when I changed the lights and PAR on it. It opened up after that and has been growing like crazy even since.

As for the gsp...they are opening one by one... and are bit larger than before they closed as well. Here is a pic of green stuff.

Salinity: 1.025
Calc: 400
pH: 8.2
Alk: 8 dkh
Mag: 1390 ppm
Nitrate: 0ppm
Ammonia: 0ppm
Temp: 75

Water is pretty much perfect could up the nitrates. If anyone could identify that zoa name for me too. Forgot to save that info from store.

Your temp is a bit low but not dangerously calcium could be a bit higher but I wouldn't worry until your first hard corals the brown algae looks like diatoms which is normal in new tanks and the green is also normal for white/dry rock

Gsp is pretty much a Bulletproof. I would say that I have seen it close up if there was a swing in parameters. Stabilize and it will perk back up
