Whats wring with my monti caps?

this had happened quickly and randomly over the past 5days it doesn't seem like rtn/stn because I can blow it off with a tube this literally went from all red to having these withe spots over night, I don't think it could be stn or rtn because it stopped growing and I haven't seen any nudis after checking every night I dip all my corals and quarantine fish so I have no idea how it could be a nudi anyways.

If you can blow it off it needs more flow, likely. Looks like detritus settling to me but difficult to say for certain as the focus is a bit fuzzy.

It now seems like tissue narcosis as it seems to be very hard and rough to gently touch with my tube ill watch ad if it gets worse ill cover it with some glue

My parameters are nitrate 5ppm
Phos:5ppm
Calcium 430
Kh 8
For lighting I have 2 simple goose neck lights i got off amazon and corals have been growing fine with them besides this one. I have dealt with stn in the past in the same tank. Here's a better pick with lights on

Only thing I can think of is my lawnmower blenny since they are known to be like dwarf angels and may nip at corals but it doesn't add up since he hasn't touched my other monti

Only things that have happened in my tank are my green nepthea shedding and this happening to my monti

Phosphates at 5ppm could be a problem. That’s pretty high. High phosphate prohibit growth.

I’m not sure about what lights you have, but if they are not providing enough par and proper spectrum - the coral Can die.

do you test magnesium? And PH?

how old is your system?

I think most importantly is consistency. These are generally easy corals to grow- but still require adequate lighting, proper parameters and consistency. To me the photos looks like the tissue either bleaching or dying, not like something nipping at it.

By 5ppm i meant .5 sorry the lights have been providing plenty of light because my torches that are in even less light than the monti have been growing fine and quickly, my system is about 6 months old and no i dont test magnesium or Ph but i do dose magnesium.

In my opinion you shouldn’t dose something your not testing for. With the exception of trace elements that there are no test for- and in That case ICP testing is highly advisable. If I was you I would pick up a mag test - and ph. If you trust yourself lights then they may not be the issue.
When I have issues I always check the major items first to make sure everything is ok.

I personally think keeping these main 4 at a stable acceptable level and long term consistent is key.
Also 6mo is a bit young. Honestly on my tank, things didn’t start to thrive until about a year in.

At .5 pho’s that still is to high. Monti tend to bleach out with high phosphates. You want that phosphates at .003-.1
Also lights for torches that are doing fine can not be compared to what sps corals require..

P at .5 is 5 to 10 times normal.

Miscommunication for 3rd time by 5 and .5 I really mean .005 sorry about that. Also I have two Montipora Caps and only this new addition has had bad problems. The only problem i've had with my other one was a small patch of stn, which was completey healed in days. Lighting is not their issue since they are both only 3-4 inches apart. I now plan on not getting any more sps until multiple months past my tanks first birthday. And for this monti i'll just wait some time and if it is stn/rtn I will cover the dead areas with glue, since glue has proven to be affective in my reef tanks.
