Whats wrong with my elegance coral

Hey guys, I've had this coral for about 5 months and it always looked like the first pic. However it has been closed up like the 2nd pic for about 3 weeks now. All parameters are good, however lately I am having a problem with low alkalinity.

raise your Alk slowly and see if it improves the elegance's condition.
