Hi all. I recently had to take over full maintenance of my home reef tank due to covid. Not sure what type of torch/hammer coral this is but one branch just decided to retract. Wondering if this is okay or if it should be dipped... 250 gal Alk 9.5, Ca 470, Mg 1400. 1.025 spsg. I tried to attach its pic as well as tank.

Do you feed any coral food? All those mouths are waiting to eat.

Hi. Yes I have red sea a and b mixing 15 cc of each with one teaspoon reef roids that i apply to them with turkey baster. Oddly a few of its polyps were out and retracted shortly after i fed this evening. I thought high flow was bugging it but youd think the other branch would behave the same.

I believe that you have a flower pot coral. They are not the easiest customers to keep happy on a reef. Hopefully some other folk will check in with more specifics. I know that they like to eat but I’m not going to be able to offer more specific help.
