what's wrong with this kryptonite candy cane coral

last year at this time it looked like this

any help on what's going on with this would be great.
 
Looks like the color has improved, but it is closed up from too much flow. I had a chalice that would not open for several months. I moved it 4 inches to the left into lower flow and it is happy as a clam now. :bigsmile:
 
the color on this coral is great, i just wish it was fatter, I have seen a little improvement in the past few days by moving it lower and into less flow, I also am feeding it a lil more. thanks
 
I say lighting.
 
just wanted to give a quick update: first pic is about a year ago, second pic is 2 months ago an the 3rd is today. It has shown much improvement since moving it to the bottom where it gets less flow and less lighting. I also spot feed him mysis once a week. Thanks for the advice guys I am really happy how much better it looks in just a couple months.
