hi folks,

in my newly set up tank since feb (5 months). I only have 2 fishes : scopas dan lawnmower blenny. It is still in the ugly phase i think.

Both fishes have been there for 3 months since end of cycling.

Both are in good condition and eat well. However this morning i noticed that on the left side of scopas the are 2 marks (picture)

What are those marks? Thanks folks.

Water param should be ok.
But since 2 days ago i introduced aquaforest fish V for the fishes. That was the only change from my routines.
Sal = 33 ppt, pH = 8.23-8.36, NO3 = undetected, PO4 = 0.01, Ca = 390-420; Mg = 1280 - 1320; Alk = 8.6 - 9.0 dKH. Temp 25-26 C. No reactors, no gfo.

Speaking from experience, my hippo tang used to get these marks from sleeping wedged in between two rocks. It may not be the cause but watch where he sleeps and u may have your answer.

Yep that's his sleeping spot, between rocks
This is more than likely the reason.
When my hippo was doing this there was no lasting damage and after rearranging rock work (not for this reason) he started sleeping elsewhere and the marks stopped appearing.

Looks like post injury. One nice thing about saltwater is the fast ability for fish to heal. You can also add melafix which will assure no infection and boost healing

@Big G any ideas? (Sorry for calling you out but I saw you were online)
Sure looks like scrapes. The current pushes them around a bit all night long. Just keep an eye on the areas for any white filmy, redness, or necrosis appearances.

I would say those are bite marks from the lawnmower blenny.
I would not rule this out either mind.
I seen this happen to a naso tang and the wound was circular.

I don't turn down flow intensity during the night; only set rump up/down time a bit longer.
