What's your biggest coral or fish regret?

Have you ever regretted putting in a specific coral or fish in your tank? I've heard many people say they regret getting GSP because it covers EVERYTHING. What similar stories do you have?

Neon Velvet Damsel.....a fish killer. It was removed from the tank and put into the witness protection program at an undisclosed aggresive tank location. Unfortunately this miscreant was the cause of two deaths and pretty much everyone's tail or dorsal fins being nipped. My wife actually witnessed the tail of a Yellow Tang being bitten off and seeing the yellow piece in the mouth of the Damsel.

Its such a shame that they are such jerks because they are really cool looking fish.

1. Mushroom corals, they are taking over my tank. I can't sell, give away, or kill fast enough.
2. Not understanding the relationship between survival rate and price when I first started: the more expensive a coral/fish is, the faster it dies. A blue damsel will live survive a nuclear holocaust.

Yellow Clown Goby. Just added one a couple of days ago and it's picking at all of my acros. Put a small acro in a jar and am hoping he'll go in to relocate. Had no idea these were such a problem with acros until I googled it. Be warned...STAY AWAY!

damsel fish

Biggest regrets 4 stripe and Velvet damsel just jerks and you can't kill them roach fish bite and bother any fish you put in after got for cycling my first SW tank banish the velvet as he was attacking my brand new purple tang no way ima let a 4$ fish kill a 200$ one lol

GSP for sure it grows too fast. Bi color basslet and blue damsel both mean and caused issues with other fish, especially the damsel. At least the bi color was a good looking fish the damsel lost it's vivid blue when it got older. Here is a picture of the other fast growing coral do not know what it is.

When I first started getting into salt water hobby and not having all the info needed was a mistake. I did not know about QT tanks and why they are important, anyway I went and purchased a blue powder tang. After three days it died on me, that's was not the bad part. It had a bad case of ich on it. My sail fin tang and my blue hippo both got it and started something new in my tank. I lost my dragon fish, also lost my red flame angle and my blood red shrimp. Almost lost one of my clowns to. This was a bad case from the beginning but you live and learn from your mistakes.

6 line wrasse. It got rid of flat worms then got bored and started terrorizing my firefish. He went back to the store, the firefish is still around 5 years later.

Fish: Pseudochromis, hands down. Over it's 6+ year life span ('Tried a hundred times to catch it. Never could'), it was directly responsible for the deaths of a least 5 of my fish. This was due mainly to chasing them until they jumped out of the tank; one time through an eggcrate cover. Made it impossible to keep any fairy wrasse, hogfish, or other 'torpedo' shaped fish. The very personification of the words 'holy terror'.

Coral: Actinodiscus Mushrooms. Sometimes I see some of these for sale. To me, this is like buying acne.

Regrettable Incident: I hadn't been in the hobby more than a few months when a nice and friendly LFS salesmen convinced me that I really needed the pretty little Bumble Bee Grouper they'd just gotten in for my 55g FO. It was only shortly after I came home to discover my Powder Blue Tang's tail sticking out of it's mouth that I discovered my Bumble Bee was in fact a juvenile 'Jewfish' which commonly maxed out at 8 FEET long and over a thousand pounds. Rest of story too long and offensive to get into here. Suffice it to say the fish was returned.

Anthelia! Great when you are starting out. Fast growing, nice movement. However it soon covers more and more, is a pain to remove totally off live rock, and the pieces you miss when you removing start growing somewhere else. Even aggressive corals do not seem to sting and kill it, and as it extends it blocks light from other corals.
