I have an aptasia problem and want to add a filefish. I know there's a possibility of the species nipping or eating coral. Does anyone know what type of coral they prefer to eat and what coral they may stay away from? I have most euphyllias and rock flower nems in my tank

I have a filefish. Never seen it eat an Aiptasia or any corals. It does eat like crazy though. I feed mostly frozen to the tank. It's also one of two fish that know how to hang out by the feeding ring and take food from the surface.

As far as Aiptasia, my CBB is an Aiptasia eating machine. Depending on the size of your tank, you might want to look into one of them. Berghia nudis will also clear them out, but they're expensive and it'll take time.

My friend tried two times. Never ate pest nems... nipped at SPS and fluffly LPS. They were captive bred.

I have an aptasia file fish. He does pretty well on eliminating the small aptasia but the really big ones seem to be too much for him. He does not seem to bother any of my corals. I have an SPS dominant tank. I have some LPS and as I said he seems to leave everything alone. I think it is luck of the draw.

I got a file fish because of aptasia. I never seen it eat it but I don't have any more.
