What's your experience with moorish idols?

I've kept 2 in the past 10-15 years. First one was a very finicky eater, but still lived to be 5 years old. Lost that one to Hurricane Katrina unfortunately.
My last one ate everything in sight (including flake/pellets), but was killed by an aggressive Blue Angel. He lasted 18 months.

Mine is in with a bunch of Angels that mostly bicker lightly amongst each other. I've only had mine a few months but he eats everything and is literally obese with nori and frozen everything.
He's the only fish I have that refuses live black worms though.

Change to 720p. This was before I added my Achilles tang, the banana wrasse was in the sump (unknowingly), and a flame angel.
Not shown is my blueface angel but he's in there.

That Emperor is giving your MI hell.Mine would go sulk in a corner and refuse to eat when the Blue Angel messed with him too bad. I wish I had pulled him before it was too late.
That's actually the full extent of aggression. A rare find. I spend a lot of time in the basement watching tv and them interact. He only does that when the idol is in the way, and the emp does that to everyone except the passer angel. I haven't seen a chase in weeks but this is how he operates. It's expected that everyone stays out of his way or get chased once briefly. The idol has learned I suspect lol
You have your own fish man cave in the basement? I'm so envious!
I knew a guy who had that going on ... he put a lock on the door so no one (including his wife) could bother him while he was down there.

Yep, 1200 sq feet, finished. 60" 3D TV, a 180 angel tank, my 125 wrasse tank, a work out area, electric leather reclining sectional, a bedroom and a bathroom, and I have future plans for a kitchenette/bar!
Gotta keep the women away!

From my brief experience I think constant nori to graze is critical and a varied diet including sponge. Mine is fat as a ballon with nori. She and the Angels and tangs in her tank eat three sheets of nori per day! My magnificent foxface looks like a pregnant english bulldog!
