What's your experience with the VorTech Battery?

Pretty simple question with the most recent Elsa storm I wanted to ask people who own a Vortech Battery back-up is it worth it have you had any issues with them failing?

How much did replacing the internal battery end up costing you after the 2 years of usage?

Is it a pretty simple DIY fix? I know you haven't done it yet but sounds like you might have already looked into it.

I just checked it, after roughly 2 years, and the MP40 shows a battery backup error. The battery is probably bad now, UGH!!!

I did check it periodically, when I shut down the pump to feed the corals.

Completely worth it for the Ecotech or DIY. The Ecotech battery is a metal box with a sealed battery in it and some basic wiring. There are videos on how to replace the battery. It isn’t complicated. DIY also isn’t too difficult and will give you more battery for the $. I have both and they make power outages less stressful.

Replacing the battery on Ecotech battery backup...

It was super easy, and cost me around $37. The battery was $34, and the machine screws were like $1.50. I was going to buy a brand new one, and then I realized that would be a huge waste of money. The power supply works fine, the battery inside the backup was just toast. After a little research...

I have the back up battery, and replace the internal battery every 2 years as well. Piece of cake to remove and install.
