This with TLF Aquastik putty and the frags stay put and never move. I'd make a mess with the glue trying to get the frag to stay where I'd want it, or having to shoo away the fish and shrimp while gluing was a pain also. What I do now is cut off the stalk from the frag so just the disc is left. I take a small ball of putty put a few drops of glue on the bottom of the frag (disc) and press the putty onto the disc to flatten it out a little, I then put more glue on top of the putty. I take the frag sandwich that I just made and press it onto the rock I want, the putty molds to the rock and the glue holds in in place.
Doing it this way I don't squeeze the tube of glue in the tank, and the bond to the rock is much stronger because the putty molds to the shape of the rock and the super glue has more area to bond to. Less time your hands are in the tank also because everything is done outside the tank until your ready to put the frag in it's location.

Ever since I've been doing it this way I don't find frags on the sb anymore. I have couple of Turbo snails that are like tanks rolling over everything and always knocking frags down...not anymore.

I’m surprised at all the normals. But I use seachems blue cap and I left it for 2 hrs cap less and had alittle dryness but cleaned it and was fine. I use normal loctite on anything else not Coral as when I wanna remove that Coral it’s not a fight and pops easily.

Loctite Ultra Gel has been the best for me. I've tried the Gorilla Gel and in my opinion the Loctite is way better.

I like to use Gorilla Glue Gel from Home Depot. I can get 24 grams for under $4.00
They have a 20 gram bottle of the same stuff, but if you look close enough some bottles are actually 24 grams.
Ive done some reasearch and this is the cheapest glue I can get for the amount and price.

I use gorilla glue gel as well. No issues with it

I have tried every single glue in this thread and Bob Smith Industries IC Gel is the best imo. Never clogs, love the consistency, big strong tubes, holds better etc.

Alone it's great but I also use a product called Boston Aqua Farms Reef Glue Accelerator, which is kind of expensive and not necessary, but let's me quick set frags on rock work or frag plugs about 5x faster and with less glue. Just drip a drop or two on top of the glue, or some people spray it under the glue (comes with spray tip or pipette) and your ready to rock.

The bottle has lasted me over a year and about 3-4 20g tubes of super glue, and I still have some left (and I spill and waste a lot).

I also just get the super glue gel from dollar tree. While buying the larger tubes seem like your saving money, either the tube splits, dries out, nozzle gets clogged or something and end up wasting.

I just stick with the smaller tubes works best for me.

Just FYI this has never happened with IC gel for me. Having said that, I'm clearly a glue snob. Glue is glue after all.......

I've used plenty of IC gel and the really big tubes. Maybe your more meticulous with how you use and store it. Me, I'm not known to be meticulous and don't have to worry about it lasting more than a couple of uses.

I just put the cap on when I'm done. I've had other glues seize up or clog or whatever even with the cap on

Any cyanoacrylate glues do a lot better about not hardening up in the tip if stored in the refrigerator. Little trick I learned from an airplane builder.

I have always used Gorilla blue, but when I bought some this past month the stuff is not as thick and it's annoying me. I have used two bottles and both were somewhat thinner than what I got in the past.

The ecotech gel works best for me, I tried to make the super glue gel work (gorilla, locktite) but the ecotech stuff just seems to stick and cure faster underwater.

This is what I found as well. I still like my ecotech glue. Just curious, so I thought I'd try something new. I get that the dollar general store stuff is "good 'nuff" but I really want to go with something better. Up till now, that's been ecotech for me. We'll see how IC gel compares, but no way I'd go back to the dollar store or loctite stuff.

I'm on my first tube of ME glue. Most other glues I've used have a similar consistency where the ME is a little thinner. Also there is something about this formula that lets it dry without bubbling. For glueing frags underwater I still like a thicker glue like Loctite or IC because the thinner ME drys too fast when submerged.
