Coral is one of the most iconic and beautiful aspects of any reef tank, and if you're lucky you have had the chance to keep a thriving reef ecosystem. And while our tanks can have dozens of different colonies, there is always that one that stands out from the rest. It dosent neccesarily have to be expensive, hard to keep or uncommon in the hobby, it can be as simple as a zoa or duncan, but still captivates us unlike any other of the colonies. That being said, what is that coral for you?

I'll go first.

Nemenzophyllia, beautiful, easy and underrated

Torches - I don’t need any of the bright golds or thousand dollar heads, just a simple green torch blowing in the current is one of the most mesmerizing things in the hobby.
Same with gonis for me but when I visualize the perfect reef it seems to primarily focus on sticks and more sticks of different colors and growth patterns.

Duncans are definitely a favorite coral of mine. I have one in each tank - the first which went from 1.5 heads to 6 so far. I love how reactive they are to feeding even if they don't need to be fed.
