What's your max fish price?

Under $500 and I don't think too much about it. Over that, and it has to be something I really want.

About $300 is my cut off (what I just paid for a Diamond Tail Flasher). I did pay about 4-500 for a trio of Eightlines, but that's 3 fish technically. With that said, I'd do up to $500 for something rare that I'd been looking for and already been budgeting for.

$75 for now, but I want a Scribbled Angel eventually, so that will triple the limit at that point. So far, I've been lucky though...my 240g FOWLR has a Purple Tang (that I got in a trade for a Yellow Tang), so essentially cost me $20)...a 7" Magnificent Foxface (that was mislabeled at the LFS as a Spinefoot for $49) and a Blonde Naso Tang ($50, which seemed a little underpriced) and I just got an Aussie Harlequin Tusk for $75 that was marked $125. I mentioned to the LFS owner that it was a nice fish, but I just couldn't pay that much. He asked what my limit was and I said $75, so he said he would take that. My ultimate score was a free Borbonious Anthias that a guy on CL had to get rid of because he bought a pair that fought. It's tail was chewed to a nub and I've been nursing it back over the last year. It is in my 60g for now, but once it can swim better, it goes into the 240g.

Nice price on the Harlequin, they run around $300 here. It's been my goal since I started in the hobby, somehow though my budget gets eaten up quickly by coral purchases lol

I have a small tank so the most I've ever spent was $150 on a golden dwarf moray (totally worth it!). When I have a larger tank I imagine most spending would be in the $100-200 but I do plan on splurging upwards of $300-500 for a few centerpiece items!

Mine is doing the book keeping on all our income, from trading and to our company....... she knows what comes in and goes out.

60 dollars is my max. The fun is in taking something that might not be so big or flashy to a point where it reaches it's max potential.

My limit grows the longer I'm in the hobby. The more confidence I have in my ability the more I'm comfortable spending. I remember when I first started in the hobby I thought anyone that paid more than $40 for a fish was crazy. Now I'm on the look out for a crosshatch trigger. It's amazing what this hobby will do to you.

While I could afford more, the most I have spent on a fish is $80 (powder blue tang). The most I have spent on a fish that is still alive is $50 (long nose hawkish and Christmas wrasse). I seem to have more luck on cheaper fish. However, I will go to $150 on a coral, as I have more confidence with corals than fish.

That's funny. My wife actually does most of the "heavy lifting" and strenuous work because of all the injuries I collected in the military. To be fair and honest, most purchases are jointly agreed upon.

I'm more prone to spend more on fish now because my tank is jam packed with coral, and I fund most of my fish purchases with the selling of frags.
