Just wondering what your normal skim color is? My Bubble Magus Curve 12 just started producing skim after breaking in and it's a dark yellow. Not sure if I want it lighter or darker.

Any reason?
You don't have to empty the skimmer cup as much, and it doesn't pull as much out of the water as wet skimming does. I do this to keep some nutrients in the tank.

I try to dial my skimmer in so that it needs to be emptied at about the same time I change my filter socks (every 3 days). My skimmer cup is usually about half full of darkish tea colored skimmate by then.

Dark brown to black for me. I skim fairly dry as I don’t want to remove too many nutrients, just the macro stuff. If I found PO4/NO3 rising too much I would skim wetter, but for now they are on the low end of where I feel I want them.

Mine is dark at the moment, but that's intentional. I don't want to skim too much out of the tank as my nutrients are very low as a result of a clarisea and refugium. When the tank was in earlier stages I had my skimmer turned up and was skimming more/lighter in color and would do so again if I ran into any issues. It really comes down to your needs/wants.

I do both basically—I skim dry and get dark skimmate, and I do half or 3/4 of my 10% weekly WC by skimming very wet.

Very dark brown/green. I run skimmer level so it accumulates thick scum only on the top 1/2 inch of neck.
