I had to dose before for gha. with a syringe I dosed 1-1.5 ml per 10 gallons (10 ml in a 75 gallon) I didn't broadcast dose, I sprayed the heavy patches of gha directly. I did this during night, every night, for about 5 days. removed the dead in the morning. it worked like a charm. no loses in the tank. just a bunch of dead algae.

so what are your experiences?

It's been years since I've dealt with any intolerable amounts of GHA. The broadcast method led to a paling color and slow die off. It just kind of crumbled loose and started going all over the water column periodically. Direct target doses seemed to keep things a little more manageable. I currently have one rock that leaches phosphates and grows GHA at a steady rate. If it wasn't for the cluster of nickel and quarter sized feather dusters growing from it, I'd probably leave that rock to the old acid and Sun treatment. Have you noticed a period of time that the GHA returns?

this was also in an old tank. if your leaching phosphates you may just be stuck with it until it stops. after I finished dosing though I think I had 1 spout to deal with after but it was small and only took 2 hits of h202.
