Get it? Because my username has to do with bread and... oh whatever...
Have any thoughts/feedback on this concept? I am pretty fixed on maintaining my macroalgae tank for now, but it's fun to think about ideas like this.

Tank and equipment:
- Aqueon Standard 55-gallon Tank
- AquaClear 110
- Macro Aqua M-50 HOB Protein Skimmer
- Nero 5 Powerhead
- Eheim Jager 250 Watt
- AQUANEAT Aquarium Thermometer
- Finnex Planted+ 24/7 LED 48"

Aquascape:
- GloFish Aquarium Gravel and Crushed Coral (for 2" substrate bed)... and subsequently a gravel vacuum
- Top Fin Stone & Coral Aquarium Ornament
- Penn Plax SpongeBob Pineapple House Ornament
- Penn Plax Squidward Easter Island Home Ornament
- Penn Plax Krusty Krab Ornament
- Penn Plax SpongeBob and Patrick on a Buoy Aquarium Ornament
- Various plastic, multicolored and/or fluorescent aquarium plants
- Treasure chest ornament without bubbler

Macroalgae:
- Red bubble algae (Botryocladia skottsbergeii)
- Bryopsis sp.
- Cotton candy algae (Callithamnion sp.)
- Caulerpa racemosa
- Caulerpa taxifolia
- Caulerpa verticillata
- Green hair algae (Derbesia sp.)
- Dictyota sp.
- Valonia sp.

Invertebrates:
- Aiptasia sp.
- Anemonia majano
- Asterinid starfish (Aquilonastra sp.)
- Colonial hydroids
- True tulip (Fasciolaria tulipa)
- Red knob sea star (Protoreaster linckii)
- Vermetid snails (Vermetidae sp.)

Fish:

You are missing some key aspects. I mentioned this the other day, doing a tank full of "pest" corals and see who wins. GSP, Pulsing Zenia, etc. Maybe throw in a RBTA so it can split into ###
The thing is, when people would come over to your house, that would be the first tank they go to.
And be like "Man that's a beautiful tank" meanwhile your thinking "I haven’t done a water change in two months"

Xenia, Kenya tree, yellow polyps, and Anthelia sound fun, though I wonder how much the other pests might impact them (can't say for sure since coral isn't up may alley).

Now you're making me wonder if the sheer density and diversity of pests might actually get this tank to resemble an established reef... assuming they don't start outcompeting each other and that you can ignore the plastic decorations, of course.

But that's the thing with pest corals... No skill required! Which I assume is why they are labeled beginner corals. I think the skill comes in later, in removing them.
I have a Buddha that is covered in Meteor Shower Cyphastrea that I got for cheap because I think at one time it was cool to cover objects (skulls, turtles, etc) with an encrusting coral. So I think that this could be part of the fun, watching corals take over sponge Bob's ceramic pineapple.
To top it off I think you should use a Fluval 13.5 to complete the concept

This is a funny concept. Vermitid snails took me out. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
