Whelk or nassarius snail?

Hard to tell exactly from the pics, but I would say nassarius (which are also whelks).

Looks like it’s from the nasssarius family (nassariidae), but it’s hard to tell. You’d probably need to crack it open to be sure or let it grow until the defining characteristics are better defined- a lip at the opening of the shell. With that being said, my knowledge of these guys is limited. I only learned enough to identify families when digging through fish guts.

Im just wondering if this would eat my snails as ive read whelks will do.
