Ugh, such an unnecessary tragedy happened today...

My male Rhomboid wrasse is one of my favorites in the tank, super inquisitive, very confident and generally likes to tag along with my siphon tube when I'm doing my weekly cleaning (my Copperband does this too).

Well, that's exactly what he was doing when he got into a small scuffle with one of my Pink Smith damsels. I was siphoning nearby their nesting/sleep site and the female started picking at the tube, the Rhomboid muscled in and she started chasing. He ended up carpet surfing BEHIND the tank.

I managed to extricate him from between the tank and wall after 10 minutes, but it was too late. He was glassy eyed and gone.

This one's going to hurt for a while...
