When can I add my sticks(acros)?

Using established rock from my current system I got the nitrogen cycle completed almost instantly on my new tank (tested multiple times throughout the week) and now have some CUC and will be moving over my first fish sometime later this week. Towards the end of January I am hoping to have most of my corals moved over as well. Provided that everything else looks happy, is the general consensus that I will be okay to move my acros (no tenuis, I can’t keep them since 1 little change seems to RTN them for me)?

I moved my 18 month old Nano tank full of SPS over to my new shallow reef a few months ago, just moved them over and kept the water with LR. Dosed MB7 for a week without any issues at all.

Sound like the tank is seeded from your previous rock. This would be kind of like doing a 100% water change. I say go for it.

If this were brand new tank (without live rock)advice would be different.

I moved my 18 month old Nano tank full of SPS over to my new shallow reef a few months ago, just moved them over and kept the water with LR. Dosed MB7 for a week without any issues at all.

Thanks, I didn’t use all of my current LR, just a few pounds so that the bacteria would have an easier time spreading to the dry rock. Maybe I’ll do a good water change on both tanks coming up and use all of the dirty water from my smaller tank and hope it helps prepare it haha

I would wait until you have coralline growing all over the glass and stuff. This is a good litmus that the tank is stable enough for good calcification.

That’s a good point! My 46 started growing coralline in under a month so I hope it’s even faster for this tank since I’m even more experienced now.
