I drained the tank wiped everything down no new substrate or anything filled it back up and bleached it it’s a 200 gallon system I added one gallon of bleach and then drained again scrubbed and vacuumed the rest of the sand and everything and filled it back up putting sand and dry rock in my question is I’ve added a lot of prime to the system when will I know The bleach has left the system I did a chlorine test which came back as having no bleach in the tank white square but I’m worried any advice?

Typically chlorine will dissipate rather quickly.

What catches my attention is that you "vacuumed the sand" Since you had the system torn down anyway, why not wash the sand fully? Place it in buckets and rinse it till it comes clean?

Why did you take such extreme measures in the first place?

Is this a tank that crashed? is it something you rehomed? What are the variables here?

In order to get the best advice, we need to know what exactly the scenario is. Any advice we can give at this point is best guess.

For example, I could say, add a water conditioner to remove free chlorine to the mfg recommendations, and wish you the best, and then in a few weeks you will be posting about issue this or problem that...

Let's address your situation fully and hopefully help you avoid future problems before they happen.
