When Do You Go Searching For a New Fish?

Added a diamond goby on Saturday. He was very active at the store and swam around a bit after being introduced. He went behind my rockwork and could see what looks like a small sand mound. Thinking he made a cave back there but havnt seen him since. How long do you wait till you go looking for a new fish? I know they can be shy but hes got a sand bed to get to lol.

Some gobies are very shy, I went maybe a month one time without seeing my goby. Watch closely during feeding time, it should show some kind of interest if in there

He has not, I put some mysis behind the rock and nothing.

That’s good is there a lot of rock work in the tank? I’ve had fish disappear for weeks also with the diamond goby your sand will get moved around any you’ll see piles of it around that would be a good sign
