When do you see Red Sea test kit color change?

At what point do you call the Red Sea test kit color as changed? Is it when you first see the purple or when you see full purple. It is usually 2 drops difference which on the Mag test is 40ppm.

I attached the 3 pictures of unchanged, half, and full.

The test card also shows it as blue.

Purple is just before the end. You’re still one drop away. You want to get it to be blue.

None of your pictures are the endpoint. Like the last few posters said...full color change to blue. The magnesium test only stays blue a short time and will quickly change back to purple. Stop at first sign of full blue and take reading and ignore the change to purple.

The calcium test is different. When blue changes to slight purple, continue to add a drop to full blue till it stays blue.

Doggone... I went back and compared my notes to a couple ATI and Triton ICP test over the past few months and sure enough, I was 10 to 20 PPM low each time on my testing.

Not much of difference and had always assumed it was just testing error and wasn't worth fretting over...
