When is it safe to call aptasia gone?

The latest plague to affect my tank is aptasia (despite not adding anything new for months). Peppermint shrimp ignored it, file fish wasn't interested, so I got a Klein's butterfly. Demolished every bit of aptasia in 2 days. Problem is, the Klein's is now eating every polyp in my tank.

So is aptasia ever gone? Can I get rid of a known aptasia-destroying machine and not stay up at night wondering if the devil weed will return the day after I remove the Klein's?

Most likely it’s not 100% gone and the butterfly will just keep it controlled as long as the butterfly is in the tank.

Unfortunately, full eradication of Aiptasia is not typically a possibility for the same reason that the Aiptasia appeared after months of no new additions to the tank. The smallest remnants of Aiptasia will remain in the system and can take months to appear in their fully developed form.

Did you get the yellow version or the bluehead ?
Yellow will go after coral. Kleinis' Do however catch every last aptasia

It's the blue faced version. Stone cold aptasia killer.

You will never really get rid of aptasia. It’s all about control. I had file fish that I thought had got rid of the aptasia. Later he started eating my coral. I removed it. Two months later you guessed it. The aptasia came roaring back with new friends. I have had a copper band butterfly in the tank for three years now. I haven’t seen any aptasia. I imagine that if I removed the copperband the aptasia will come back. So again it’s all about control.

That's what I was afraid of. The Klein's has taken out my monti cap, Cali tort, candycane, and basically all my zoas. The hammer and torch corals are ok so far, but he was eyeing my ricordea tonight. Is there anything he won't eat on the reef? It's not like he's underfed either.

Yikes, what about nudibranches for the tank?

When you take down your tank, your aiptasia will be gone.

Nudibranch's were my plan D. I kind of forgot about them since all the aptasia disappeared. Might be a death sentence for them though since there isn't any visible aptasia anywhere currently.
