So the tank was finally looking good and things turning around. All of a sudden emergency strikes again. The ceiling in my duplex is saturated with water and is coming down. First part fell on Tuesday last week and we found massive mold issues in the attic. The sheetrock is so soft you can press your finger through it without any resistance...

We have been crazily trying to remove all the belongings before it got worse. We have done a good job, but relocating a 125G tank to temporary housing just isn't possible.

So the local pet store volunteered to let me set up a tank at his store so I can keep going, but he didn't have room for 6 feet, only 4 feet. So hunted down a used tank and now have to move in a new tank, set up all new equipment and then move livestock.

I hope there's a light at the end of this tunnel.

This is a bummer, but you have the right out look:)

Oh wow! And yet another reason to support your local fish store.

Yes, please everyone see this note. Without the LFS, I would be tearing down completely... Not all are as helpful as mine, but the ones that are need to be supported to the best of our abilities.

Always a sad sight to see all the tank plumbing apart and live rock dead outside...

Look what happened to that heater though! I took it to the store and they said it was all calcium deposits, but that seems a bit odd. Never seen that happen.

Midwest Aquarium Services came to the rescue though providing me a space for a temp tank. They only had 4 feet so I found a tank and set it up with bare bones life support as it wasn't drilled... Already lost the powder brown for no apparent reason, but the other two fish seem fine. Some SPS loss but the rest are doing well.

Lights have since been changed out to LED and a sponge filter added for some clarifying. Adding a reactor with carbon today or tomorrow.

Ugh. Tank is the least of your worries, a mold mess like that is a major ordeal to clean up.

That is a sad sight.....

Best of luck, call if I can be of any help.

For sure... Thank God for insurance companies... Mine won't cover tank expenses as it is considered a "Pet" which falls under their exclusions. However they are covering my meals, moving expenses and temporary housing 100%.

By what I hear the home-owner's policy is covering all structural damage to the ceiling, walls and insulation. The roofing part is up to the home-owner. The mold was bad above two rooms and under the carpet in one corner. Other than that it is drying out well.

Yeah it sucks. I'm going to need to find some of the corals I have given away over the years and try get frags back to rebuild. Other than that, the ducks are falling in a row so hopefully a light will be at the end of this tunnel soon.
