Woke up this morning to house filled with smoke. The heat pump seized and was pouring smoke into the house.

Currently without heat. I put an additional 800w titanium heater in my 180g, hopefully it's enough to keep the tank warm enough until the heat can be restored.

Anything else I can do to keep the heat in the tank?

Wrap tank and stand in blanket. Especially the top

How cold is it where you are at? That will help determine just how much action you need to take. I'm in central Ohio, right now it's about 36. At least you still have electricity!!! Wrapping the tank will help. I'd make a run to HD/Lowes and get some of the thick styrofoam sheets to tape in place around the tank and sump, and even a plastic sheet over the top will help.

It's a brisk 25 right now in North East PA. Should get a little warmer throughout the day, highs in the upper 30's

The house is down to 60. The 800w heater is actually warming the tank up as we speak, went from 75-78 so hopefully it will work out ok. I also added an additional heater to my nano tank

I can't get the HD or Lowes until the HVAC company gets here.

A month ago I ran out of power for 24 hours. No heat in the house or tanks. Tanks went down to 68f than slowly warmed up about 2 degrees an hour. Never lost a fish or coral.

yea. I'm only going to be concerned if it's a multi day thing.

The HVAC guy is here now and just pulled out a motor that was fried to a CRISP!

If you're not already running carbon, you may want to add some to a high flow area of the sump to remove any toxins the smoke may have introduced to the tank. Sounds like the added heaters will probably get you by. Good luck.
