Well this is what happens when a garage gets struck by lightning...2 weeks before Christmas. This happened December 3rd 2006.

The first link is to a slide show of snapshots of the destruction...

The second is the new garage going up almost a year later...gotta love insurance companies.

Certainly puts things in perspective doesn't it?

At least it wasn't the house. I am a volunteer firefighter so I unfortunately see stuff like that all too often. Glad things are getting back to normal for you though.

That really bites.I am sure we could start a thread on fires ,I work for a Propane co.that went up a couple of years ago.

new garage is nice..... not to mention all the new toys....... though gotta suck to lose everything.... did you keep any of the melted pieces of metal as a conversation piece?

No, it wasnt anything at the time that i wanted to remember, and everything was in huge pieces, or sharp as hell. Not to mention there was so much other things blended together, and i wasnt sure what would have been toxic and what not.

toxic? Pffft, it's not like it's burning plastic or the sweet aroma made when **** is burnt. Yes I know it's spelled wrong.

no plastic?? yeah other than the 500 pounds of it that was in there. Or maybe the countless chemicals, accelerates, and fertilizers that were in there.
