Hello fellow saltines,

I wasn't sure where to post this so here goes... When reading threads, especially older ones (and when I say old that might just be 2 yrs) I see a lot of people sharing links for products but all they say is "I bought this" and they hyperlink the word "this". It would be helpful to also provide the name of the product and manufacturer/maker in the comment because it's not surprising to click on the link and the website is gone or the link is dead and because the product wasn't mentioned in the comment there's no way to do a google search to see if someone else carries it. Some links like Amazon provide a snippet of the product but not all links do. Even the Amazon snippet doesn't always show the whole name so it would still be helpful to have this info in the comment. Let me know your thoughts.

It's usually just amazon links that get blocked here. Most other links seem to work.
I usually try posting the item # at Amazon instead of the link now.

I usually include the whole URL.
That's better but can still be a problem if the product portion of the url is just a number and the link is dead. People clicking on it will have no idea what the product is that you were recommending unless you mention the product by name in the comment. :-)

I don't mean blocked I mean the page no longer exists (404 error) which might be due to the website having been redesigned or they no longer carry the product so they removed the page. If the product isn't mentioned in the comment people won't be able to search for it elsewhere. :-) I've had this happen a fair bit.
