When quarantining tangs, how low should the copper be before adding general Cure?

I have had my tangs in copper power for 21 says, . I now want to do a couple of iterations of general Cure, but even after an Additional week with several water changes, using cuprisorp and a polyfilter, the copper in my QT is still registering at .47. I know I have to take out the filtration when I run GC, so .4 seems high for the copper still in the tank. Is it high? How low should the copper be before I can go to the next stage of my quarantine? Outside of a poly filter and cuprisorb, what else can I use to rid the copper in my qt. I’m using a Hanna tester. Thanks.

While you can add prazi now, General cure has multiple ingredients and while at low level, Do a good water change and lower copper to less than 1 before general cure and add aeration when treating

Some people run copper in combination with prazi, but I prefer to drop the copper to at least 50% of the treatment dose first.
Also - be aware that 21 days isn’t always long enough when using amine chelated copper products, 30 days is safer. One trick to get around this is to run three days of copper after the prazi, and pull the fish out while at a full copper dose.

The answer is - you can add prazipro (which is the recommended protocol - as compared to general cure) - after the 30 day copper period. Generally it's best not to add too many medications at once. You are asking a question outside the protocol we recommend - which is copper 30 days then prazipro. There is no 'official' recommendation for general cure. Thus - there is no copper level for which to wait (hope this answers your question) - don't be concerned about the copper level

Coppersafe or copper power are fine long term. Ive kept fish for 4+ months in full coppersafe with no issues. At half dose, it would be even safer. Besides, you’ll be doing water changes over time, and the copper will drop even further.
