Hi all

I have just bought 4 Evansi anthias, they are stunning! After overcoming a difficult acclimation to my QT tank as the LFS salinity was 1.014!!, they are now active and swimming around.

They have been in the tank 48 hours and I haven't yet seen them eat. I have tried live brine shrimp and frozen mysis soaked in garlic, no luck yet.

Should I be worried yet or is it normal to go 48 hours without getting them to eat?

Here they are

The three types I have (lyretail, red fairy, marcia's) all started eating right away - but this was directly into the DT and not QT. From what I could see they look happy and healthy. You could always try some really small (1mm) pellets or calanus to see if you can get them interested in those first?
