Can someone help me figure out when I should replace my cartidges in my rodi filter? It says replace di resin color completeley changes but when do I change the others?

I create a good rule would be every six months, I mark the glasses of my filters with the date to know, but I also have a psi meter and a tds meter, for monitoring, when the pressure drops or the tds rise, I change the filters.

There is no easy answer as it depends on how much water you make, quality of membrane, and if you flush it. RO membranes can last 3+ years. Sediment and carbon filters generally need to be replaced more often...but again varies by water volume and specific filter.

I'm new to making my own water, but my understanding is that its different for everyone based on how your tap/well water is. It also depends on how much water you're making. I purchased the inline TDS meter to monitor the membrane and the di. Also purchased a pressure gauge to monitor the sediment/carbon filters going into the membrane. Everything i've read says 6-12 months on average for the sediment/carbon and 3+ years on the membranes.

I have an aquatic life rodi filter that I have been using for about 6 months. I usualy make around 4 gallons of water every two weeks.

If you to flush it regularly that should likely last 3+ years at that volume. Still cant say for sure exactly how long it will be effective, but should be quite some time. It is good to get a TDS meter. Either inline or external pen type. They are pretty cheap and RO filters are not if you start replacing them before need to.

TDS testing will reveal the answer to your question for DI resin changes. I do mine about twice a month.
Membrane, carbon and sediment about ever 6 months, but this is as a result of poor supply water from the mains. I certainly do not drink our tap water, straight off the supply.

I replace sediment and carbon if I see a pressure drop before the membrane, or when I can see my first sediment filter get dirty.
The di and membrane I completely base off of tds after each stage.

How much of a drop do you base it on?

I don't usually see too much of a pressure drop but if I know my filters haven't been changed In a while and my pressure is around 5 psi lower than normal I will change them. I'm not sure if this is the correct way to tell but it's worked for me. Most of the time I change based on the color of the sediment filter before seeing a pressure drop.
