Should I add my chemipure while cycling my tank or after the cycle is complete and first live stock is added?

Why never?

It is more a personal philosophy type thing.

I maintain tanks by balancing them out with plant life (FW true plants--marine macro and other algaes).

Then do the rest.

I stay away from just about any chemical additions specifically things that condition the water. I do use the diy two part to maintain calcium/alk/magnesium but you get the picture.

I have just found out that over the years running a "balanced" tank makes the operation much more stable and forgiving of the things I do. And the chemicals are simply not required and may in fact degrade the system.

Still just my .02

Chemipure/Chemipure Elite is just basically overpriced Carbon and GFO mixed in a media bag. You can get Rox 0.8 GAC and GFO from BRS for like 1/10th the price and they do the same thing.

Chemipure Elite combines 3 medias in one convenient bag. Carbon, GFO and a nitrate absorbing resin. I use it and like it. Less harsh then the BRS GFO, which I might add should be used in a reactor.

Overpriced? Maybe depending on your tank size. I plan on using it as my own source of chemical filtration on 29 biocube. For $12.00, and it lasts 4 months, I'll take that imho.
