When to add clean up crew

How do I know when my tank is ready for some clean up crew? The rocks seem clean by the sand is starting to gather poop and leftover food. For reference my tank is only 10 days running and the fish have been in there for 4 days now

Wait until you need them, too clean rt now ,they will starve...

You could add a couple snails or hermits. I added mine when i added my first fish

I plan on doing a nessarius snail and a pair of hermits maybe a turbo or two

i wouldnt imagine them doing much for your poop but i got mine for uneaten food. Soonish you will have algae and diatoms so i like to add them a bit early so they can get a head start before uglys overtake.

At this point turbo will starve in days, astrea, trochus may be more suitable for your size tank

Right, I wouldn’t be adding them until it looks like there’s enough for them to upkeep. The question is, when is there enough algae, uneaten food, etc for them?

When you first see algae growth ,at 10 days ,guessing another 7-10 days
