When To Add Corals

Hello fellow aquarium enthusiasts,
Ive just started my initial cycle on a 50gal tank with live rock and sand. I plan to add some basic hardy fish once the cycle is completed. My question is when would be the best time to introduce some corals? Slowly but surely most definite when all water parameters are stable and within range. But would it be better before or after i add some fish in the tank? Still doing plenty of research just wanted to get some other opinions. THANKS!

People cycle tanks with coral only so I would say you can have coral whenever you just need to research the said approach. I would add hardy coral. Also watch your parameters etc if you cycle first…. You can cycle then add some clowns and a leather or something. Watch for ammonia nitrite to spike and drop back down then add fish

If you have live rock I’m leaning towards that you can add fish already because the bacteria needed to process ammonia n such already live within the rock. I believe fish can be added now. Test nutrients and ammonia before you do though. Mainly ammonia.

I would say recommend few months. 3-6 months. Corals don’t like big changes and like stability. Also I recommend using reef salt and the good stuff. I use Red Sea reef salt and my corals love it.

I belive that this subject is subjective for everyone. Personally I'd add fish wait a month and let the bio load catch up, get some of the first algea really going and then add a easy coral like GSP but keep that stuff on a island away from your glass and main rock display
