Bought these guys on 4/1. On 4/6 the White Cheek/Gold Rim started rubbing on the pvc. Added copper same day. He died on 4/30. He as eating great the hole time.
the Naso is not showing any signs of illness and eating like a pig. When do you think I can put him in the Display tank?
Thanks,
Jim

I would follow the standard protocol here - which is 30 days copper treatment, followed by 2 prazipro treatments followed by 2 weeks observation (at least)

If a fish died in qt, that’s a sign that something was done incorrectly. I wouldn’t rush to adding fish until you can nail down that cause.
I agree to follow standard protocol and only add the fish once finished.

Fish was likely irritated either with parasite or gill flukes but once copper added, things stabilized. For copper, treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.25-2.5 For a FULL 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored by a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.
What level are you at?

I honestly don't know where I'm at copper wise right now, It was at 2.46. I did a 50% water change Sunday evening after removing the gold rim and I am out of reagent.
I am not a big fan of medicating unless there is a problem. Have done it this way for many years without ill effects.

How are/were you measuring copper?
I too am not a fan of medicating until warranted. If left untreated however leads to bigger and larger issues
Option is hyposalinity in separate tank
