When to add pufferfish

As title states, when should I add it. It’s gonna be a valentini puffer. Should I add it last, first, or does it even matter?

Would luv to hear some answers on this. But the little I know, valentini puffers are peaceful. So I can't imagine adding them first/last would be a problem.

A little puffer related story....

I had a volitans lion for about 6 months. He was very lively and fun to feed, he would take food out of your fingers from above the water line if you were brave enough. It was like having a puppy he was so interactive.

I decided to add a small natal puffer since I knew the lion wouldn't eat the puffer. As soon as the puffer hit the water, the lion sucked him in, then spat him out. After that "intro", over the next few days I would see the lion looking "depressed" and his fins were getting shorter. Then I saw that the small puffer was actually nipping pieces off of the lion's fins.

I am a bit more weary of puffers now.

The answer very much depends on what you are going to stock with it. Generally tobie puffers are pretty laid back but they can nip fins, although ime it's the odd nip rather than anything problematic. Lions are notorious for being the subject of aggression and nipping for many species just because they are slow moving with large fins, if you have more normal community fish like wrasse you are less likely to see any problems.
In my tank I only notice the odd bit out of my tangs tale every so often but the puffer elicits a response from most of the other fish when it swims by so they know it's potentially dominant since its matured.

I'd personally add it near the end if you get a larger specimen but if it's smaller I don't think it really matters unless you are adding really timid fish with it.
