The color spectrum shifts as the bulb ages. I think an average life of 9 to 12 months running an 8 to 12 hour photo period could be expected from any given manufacturer. I change mine annually running 10 hours daily. The bulbs themselves will still work longer but you won’t be getting the advertised spectrum.
12 to 18 months. just watch the BRS video. Spectrum and intensity doesn't start to shift till the 12 to 18 month period.
I used to change mine out every 12 months religiously until I watched the BRS video. Now I change them every 18 months and have not noticed a single difference in the extra 6 months.
