When to dose a new tank.

Curious as to when I should begin dosing my one month old reef. No corals, just fish. Thus far I have only dosed soda ash to bring alkalinity up to 10.0. Purchased “All For Reef” but not sure if I should be adding things like magnesium unless water tests show a need.

Don't dose anything yet, you have no corals just fish. Especially if your not testing what ya dose. With just fish your gonna OD the tank then your gonna have questions on how to drop levels. Give it a few months add some corals.

I wouldn’t dose anything until you know when your going to be adding coral. Then start dosing to get all your levels right before adding. Then test daily after you add your corals to see what they are consuming. Then dose to keep everything in line.
