WHEN to frag my wwc bounce mushrooms

so i picked up another wwc bounce mushroom. the guy i got it from said it had a foot and also a mouth. he is small tho, about the size of a thumb nail. i know HOW to frag it, with a razor blade, but when is the question. thanks for the input.

another question reguarding these guys is, in the pic there are 2 wwc bounce shrooms. the bigger one is about 1.5". when will he bounce up? low flow, bottom of the tank. fed once or twice a week.

Don't frag them! And then they will "bounce up" as long as they are bounces. Hard to tell from your pic, but they really don't look like wwc's. At least not og's.

the mom of the larger one is the first pic, and the second picture is the mom of the smaller one i bought today. both moms are in the aquariums of the tank purchased from

Maybe more blue light. Why not frag them?

I fragged mine at about 3" which took me about 6 months. I got 5 out of it. Only been a few days but so far so good and all still have bubbles. I run about 2/3 blue lights maybe 18k look generally.

my one is at about thumbnail size and the other is about 1.5" just waiting on larger bubbles. i know how to grag them, just i dont know how many to make out of them or if i should wait until they have big bubbles before i do it

Let your corals grow out before you frag them. IME, corals undergo much more stress when they are fragged while at such a small state and have a harder time healing.

Hopefully yours will split like mine did naturally. Then u don't have to risk cutting it.

At the end of the day a shroom is a shroom is a shroom. I wouldn't go tossing it in a blender but i mean work it like any others. It seems to me the wwc bounce seems to stay put on its base which is a plus. None of mine let go or walked off after cutting. All pieces healed well and growing nicely already. All pieces retained and even blew up more bubbles since.

The jaw breaker types, seem to walk and let go of their base when cut. Not quite as easy.

How do you frag them? Never fragged anykind of shrooms.

Razor blade the shroom, then cut the disk or rock with bone cutters. Make sure you get some mouth and foot on each piece.

I'd treat this just like any other mushroom. Throw some rubble rock around the mushroom. When the grow out, they will split and move to the rubble. If you choose to frag, just cut the mushroom in half, attach them to rubble rock and tie a rubber band around it, few days to weeks, they will attach and heal.

You can get some other types for that but you probably won't get a og wwc for that.
