This is my first attempt at growing Tetraselmus and I'm at day 7 today. It's really pale compared to my Nanochloropsis and was so upon delivery as well. I guess this is normal for this species but I'm not sure when it's ready to harvest. Anyone have experience with this species?

I just did receive Tetraselmis from Mercer of Montana. Mix 500ml of phytoplankton concentrate into 3 liters of salt water mixed to 1.018 sg. Light source is PAR 38 lamp at 5000 Kevin color rendition.

Picture shows starting point of mixed culture diluted 1:6 with 6ml of Guillard f2 fertilizer.

I suspect your initial phytoplankton culture was dead.

Never gets very dark but definitely alive and moving under scope.

I can’t comment about “moving under scope”. Not sure what you are cultivating. It’s not likely Tetraselmi. What are you using for fertilizer?
Using F2 for fertilizer. Why would you suspect it's not Tetraselmus? I ordered it from Algae Research Supply, it is a motile species of phytoplankton with flagella and it swims. I'd post a video of it but this site does not download videos.
