I’ve had a chicago anemone acclimating in a box for about 10 days or so. I am wondering when it would be smart to let it wonder the tank.

my thought process was in case something went wrong I could easily move it. It seems to be doing really well.

I am wondering when it would be “safe” to take it out of the box and put it in the tank. I have a nem Guard on my powerhead and some mesh over my overflow. The only thing I haven’t is the RFG nozzle. Wasn’t sure if I needed to wrap that or not.

Sorry for the typo release*

If its been in acclimation 10 days and nothing seems out of the ordinary- you can release. Lower flow for 2-4 hours allowing it to establish its foot and under lower light intensity and then ramp back up once foot is established. Too much flow and it will keep moving around and too much light and it will hide

@vetteguy53081 thank you! I’ve had it in the box at the top but off to the side. Seems very healthy and happy. I may try to release it tomorrow.

I know not hurting the foot is paramount. Are there better ways to get them to release from plastic? I’ve heard the powerhead trick but if it’s in the box I’m afraid it’ll blast it.

try to take finger and massage it loose. If it does not cooperate, an ice cube on the foot will make it release for sure
