I just purchased a monitor for my Ecotech battery backup and it is currently outputting at 14.4. At what output does it indicate it it time to replace the battery?

Great question as I have two of the battery backups myself and often wondered what their life span was. What type of monitor did you get? Can you provide a picture of it? I'm interested in using one myself but I wouldn't know what to look or get.
Thanks,
Jim

I wonder what ETM recommends.

Unplug it from the charger to check if thats actual battery voltage, or just reading the trickle charger. 14.4 sounds like the charging voltage.

14.4 is the charger. Unplug it and put a 15 second load on it to remove surface charge and then record open circuit battery voltage. Then run it under full load everything it would normally power if you lost power for a few minutes and recheck. If the battery recovers to close original voltage your good.

Doesn’t the vortech pump, itself, show the battery life via number of “dots” lit when it’s in emergency mode?

If you keep your battery on trickle charge and your pump shows something like 80% life remaining when you go into emergency mode, id replace the batteries.
